Description / Information:
There is some slight edge wear to the first few pages. The boards are generally good. The spine has some light wear to the head and the foot but the red cloth is bright as is the gold title. The lovely decorated end papers are without inscriptions and generally clean and bright. Is dated "copyright 1934". The 16 coloured plates are in lovely clean condition subject to slight leading edge wear on the frontis. The decorated end paper is followed by a plain title page (giving the book title only) then the coloured frontis and then the detailed title page. This previously had some edge wear which has been repaired with matching contemporary paper. The introduction follows (pages 5 to 8 inclusive). Then the contents pages list of illustrations and acknowledgments. Chapter 1 starts at page 15. A chip to page 149 has been repaired with matching contemporary paper.
