A very good quality book c 1890 with 250 illustrations Dore engravings taken from The Dore Bible + Dante's Inferno + Dante's Purgatorio and paradise + Atala + Fontaine + Fairy Realm + Don Quixote + Baron Munchusen, etc Plus memoir of Dore, critical essay and descriptive letterpress. The binding is tight. The boards are in a good condition, although a little stained, whilst the leather is a little worn. See photo. The spine is in good condition with the majority of the gold lettering. The morocco title panel on spine is in maroon and is in excellent condition. The book has light occasional foxing. Slightly heavier foxing to the title and frontis. The illustrations are generally in excellent condition with the title panels printed beneath the engraving.
