2 volumes in very good condition overall. First English language edition. Originally printed in German in 1904. Edited by Walter P. Wright and translated from the German by Mrs Archer- Hind. This English language 1st edition includes all the additions made to the German edition. This 2-volume set is considered to be the "bible" on garden art. Beautifully and copiously illustrated. Absolute must for anyone interested in gardens. The inside of the books are in exceptionally good condition with a few light library marks in some bottom margins - but not on text or pictures. Rear of title page has library marks but otherwise inside is fine. The boards and spine are in very good condition overall. Front boards have library impressions on front cover. The books sit well on the library shelf. The photograph is of fig. 548 - European Garden at Yuen-Ming-Yuen, Peking. We also have a photo of the boards.
