This is the second and best edition revised and corrected 1872. 650 pages. The binding is firm and tight. In good condition overall. Boards are in good bright condition. Corners have been bumped. Spine slightly worn at top and bottom but otherwise very good. Please see the large photo we have on our website. Inside there are one or two marks including a stain on the top right of the first few pages. Otherwise mostly clean inside. The wonderful engraved full page plates nos 6 to 24 (ex 21) are excellent lovely bright and undamaged. Plate 21 is similar but has a stain in the outer top margin which is nowhere near the engraving. Provenance - WA Glazebrook Bombay 1879 and what looks like Jane Bloomfield Perry (could be Penny) 1966. Top right of half title. Marginal foxing to Plates 4 and 5 (maps) but not affecting the maps. Map plate three lovely. Map plate 2 has a crease. There is some foxing to first 5 pages and some browning to the outer leaf of the last index page. THIS BOOK IS WITHDRAWN FROM SALE.
