Description / Information:
Scarce in this condition. Book virtually as new. Clean endpapers, and crisp corners to pages and boards with no bumping. Unusually I can find no signs of foxing. Only defects I have found are a neat inscription "B Thomas 188" on the verso of the rear free end paper and the plate facing page one has a small scattering of fine black dust on the top edge. This is strange because there is no mark on the facing text page and therefore it would appear that this mark occurred in production before binding. Anyway it is not serious. With black and white photographs and illustrations and coloured frontis. Very good dust wrapper with browning to edges and spine. Slight chipping to top two corners and the head and foot of spine. Small amount of edge wear but no significant tears or loss. The reds and yellows on the front and rear are not faded. The drawing is by Professor Randolph Schwabe
