Description / Information:
ONLY AVAILBLE IN THE UK due to weight and cost of postage. Beautiful plates. The spines to the boards are in reasonable condition. The decorated front and rear boards have significant staining diagonally across the bottom quarter. The boards are the contempoary decorated cloth. There is edge staining to the bottom part of the edge to the front free end paper of vol 1 and the half title. There is some light foxing to the title page and half title a some spots to the first few pages and a few internal pages but otherwise generally clean with only occasional light marks. There is some neat red lining to some headings in the title, contents of vol 1 and letter block to page v and page 1 and page 4. Vol two is similar without colouring and the outer edges of the bottom half of the free end paper and the half title have a little more damage than vol 1 and the frontis has a small closed edge tear not affecting the plate itself. There is no frontis plate to vol 1. That said the illustrations within the text are lovely and the page edges are generally crisp. These are heavy books and will cost 13 pounds to post in the UK if bought direct and 15 pounds bought through a third party. Could be restored or rebound. . 2 volumes excellent value in this condition. Some foxing on side end papers.The price reflects thew condition. Buying more than one book will save on postage costs.
