The volumes are profusely illustrated high quality evocative line engraved drawings. Fully covers tribal activities worldwide. Title page says: A popular description of the characteristics, condition, and customs of the human family. All volumes packed full of interesting information. All volumes in good condition overall. Some foxing mainly to the opening and closing pages to the volumes but otherwise reasonably clean with occasional spotting and the odd pages with heavier foxing. Marbled end papers and all page edges. Cloth part of boards are in generally very good clean condition. Bindings are tight and sound without any apparent splits. The leather work is a little scuffed at the edges. Spines have bright nameplates and gold lettering and decoration. 5 raised bands. Buying more than one book will save on postage costs.
