Description / Information:
A fine example of this book. The early editions were based on the maps of 1871 and were published in 1872. The third and subsequent editions were based on the maps of 1878. The subsequent editions themselves do not appear to be dated The third and fifth editions are very similar with virtually all the same photos. The third was published in 1879 and the 5th states, ?from entirely new surveys finished during the summer of 1878 and corrected to the present time?. Mostly very clean inside with some occasional light foxing. Adverts included at front and back of book. Includes 24 sectional maps and 79 small photographs of the Thames stuck into the book. This book has been expertly rebound with new three quarter leather binding with marbled boards. Spine has five raised bands and looks excellent on the shelf.
