Description / Information:
Old Plans of Cambridge 1574 t0 1798 by Richard Lyne, George Braun, John Hamond, Thomas Fuller, David Loggan and William Custance reproduced in facsimile with descriptive text by J Willis Clark and Arthur Gray. The reproduction of the six old plans of Cambridge which are contained in a separate Portfolio were originally announced in 1909 but the Death of Mr Clark and the interruption of the war meant that there was a long delay in completion of the work. The publisher Mr Robert Bowes of Bowes and Bowes with the Cambridge University press. In the Publisher's notes dated 14th march 1921 Bowes and Bowes thank everyone for there efforts over the 14 years it took to publish the work. Part 1 only: Text with numerous illustrations in very good condition overall. Internally generally very clean with some light foxing.
