Description / Information:
This came from the private library of Leopold McKenna. It is marked in pencil as orignally costing £2 and 5 shillings. An inscription is dated 1902. It then went to Jim Russell and bears his bookplate. It has chapters on Medieval, Tudor, Elizabethan, and Stuart gardens. Jim Russell was nurseryman and friend and garden advisor to the Howards of Castle Howard. There is some tape holding the pages but these do not affect the text and plates, which are generally very clean. As the binding is in white, the boards and spine are often very discoloured with age. In this case, the boards are relatively clean and the spine is a little discoloured. The attractive picture on the front board is in relatively good, clean condition. Generally good inside with sellotape hinges to some plates. Externally in generally very good clean condition - rare as this book's boards are normally discoloured. Please note this book wieghs 2kg - please enquire for postage cost. For extra pictures of the more valuable books, please press the 'Ask Bookseller A Question' button. Buying more than one book will save on postage costs. We have split our books into 70 + categories.
