Some foxing internally some illustrations. Extremely interesting. The main source for the life of the chief engineer to the Dublin and Kingstown Railway, the first railway in Ireland. From 1816 he was engaged on a survey of South Carolina and adjacent states, in 1825 he worked for the Rennies in England and later carried out surveys on the Liverpool and Manchester Railway, introduced the flat-footed rails, etc. Very good boards and spine. 407pp. Very heavy book - please enquire for postage.
