The Bianco Library website has 3 pictures of this books including both medium and large images. This description is to be read in conjunction with these photographs. 2 parts in one volume of 376 pages plus index (18 pages) and Scriptores ( 8 pages). Part one is a short history of the life, progress and decay of the commonwealth. Part 2 is a description of the city: an account of the religion, civil government, art of war, with remarkable customs and ceremonies, public and private. Also included are two essays on Roman learning and Roman education. Illustrated by beautiful woodcuts. The book is generally in very clean bright condition and the plates are exceptionally clean and bright. Foldout plates of coins, pictorial map of ancient Rome, theatre, circus, street scene, Iconismus Triumphi, statues, and a number of full page plates.
